1 cup soft butter
½ cup sugar
2 cups flour
1 T vanilla
1 T water
2 cups pecans (chopped finely)
Pecan halves for the tops of the cookies

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar until bright. Add remaining ingredients except for pecan halves, and mix well. Chill the dough for at least an hour or until firm. Shape into ¾ inch balls. Top with a pecan half.
Bake at 325º for 20 minutes total. Suggest switching racks at 10 minutes. Cookies should be crispy and brown.

Store in an airtight container.
