1 C. flour
1½ C. powder sugar.
½ C. butter
½ C. chopped almonds

1. Preheat the oven to 350º. Combine the flour, sugar and chopped almonds in a bowl.

2. Put the softened butter in the center of the four and nut mixture and use a blunt knife or your fingertips to draw the dry ingredients into the butter until a dough is formed. Shape the dough into a ball.

3. Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and roll it out to a thickness of ⅛". Using a cookie cutter, Cut about 24 rounds, re-roll the dough as necessary. {lace the cookie rounds on baking sheets, leaving a little space between them. Bake the cookies for about 25 min., until pale golden.

4. Leave the cookies on the baking sheet for 10 min., then transfer to wire racks to cool. Dust thickly with powder icing before serving.
