½ c. margarine
½ c. shortening
1½ c. brown sugar
2 eggs
½ tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. hot water
2½ c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1½ c. raisins
1 c. nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º

In mixing bowl, combine and cream together butter, shortening and sugar
Beat in eggs one at a time
Dissolve soda in hot water
In separate bowl, combine flour and cinnamon
Add soda mixture and half of the flour mixture to butter batter
Stir in raisins, nuts and remaining flour
Drop by heaping spoonful onto greased baking sheets
Flatten slightly
Bake for 10-12 minutes
