1 cup melted margarine (only use margarine, do not substitute with butter)
1 cup white sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
3 3/4 cups flour- sifted
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons cream of tarter

for frosting:
1 cup powder sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup melted margarine
Water or milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cream melted margarine, sugar eggs and vanilla.
Mix sifted flour, salt, baking powder and cream of tarter.
Mix dry ingredients to wet ingredients slowly, you might have to mix the las little bit by hand.
Wrap dough in plastic wrap or place in a bowl with a lid. refrigerate at least four hours.

Roll out dough to desired thickness.( Jeff likes them pretty thick) Cut into desired shapes.
Bake at 350º for 8-12 minutes. Bake until only slightly light brown on bottom. Let cool completely.

Frosting:
Mix melted margarine, powder sugar and vanilla, thin as needed with the milk or water.
Spread on cookies and sprinkle liberally with colored sugar or decorations of choice.
