Grandma’s Ice Water Dumplings Recipe

1 3/4 cups flour
2 tsp salt
3 tsp black pepper
36 ounces chicken broth plus 2 cups water
1 stick margarine
1 cup Ice water
Bring chicken broth, margarine, and water to a soft boil then turn down to simmer
In bowl mix dry ingredients and 1 cup ice cold water. Form into a “gooie” ball. Sprinkle about 1 cup flour onto wax paper (Grandma always used her large cutting board) Take half of ball and place flour and knead it until no longer gooie.
Turn chicken broth heat up til soft boil
Using rolling pin roll out dumpling ball until at least 12 in by 12 in then turn over. Roll until dumplings are thickness desired. ( grandma liked hers thin)
Cut into strips then cut strips into shorter pieces. Place about dumplings into broth and stir. Repeat until all strips are in broth
Repeat same steps with other half of ball
When all dumplings are in broth, add one cup water continue to cook about 15 minutes on soft boil. Enjoy
