7 large cucumbers
5 large onions

3 cups white sugar
1/2 cup flour
pinch of red pepper
3/4 tbsp tumeric
1 tbsp each of ground ginger and mustard
1 tsp. celery seed
3 cups vinegar

Directions:
Directions:
Peel and chop cucumbers and onions and let sit overnight in salt water.

In the morning, drain and set aside.

Mix the white sugar, flour, spices and 1 cup of water, slowly mixing.
Then add the vinegar.

Mix and boil 5 minutes. Then add cucumbers and onions.

Boil 10 minutes and seal in glass jars.

This is Jean Hannah's recipe given to Gramma who passed it down to our family.

The relish should only be made in the fall using fresh garden cucumbers.
