1 scant cup of butter (not a full cup)
1 1/2 c. white sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
3 eggs (whole)
1 scant tsp. soda, dissolved in about 2 T of warm water
1 lb. raisins (chopped)
1 lb. dates (chopped)
1/2 c. maraschino cherries (chopped)
Pinch salt
3 c. plain flour

Directions:

Cream soft margarine and sugar. Add eggs. Mix in dates, nuts, raisins, cherries, and flour. Add all other ingredients. Drop with teaspoon on buttered pans. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Clean pan after each baking. These cookies improve with age.
