Ingredients:
1 Pkg Pinto Beans
1 Ham Bone
2 Cups Ham, Diced
3 Onions, Diced
1 (8 oz) Can Tomato Sauce
1 Tblsp Oregano
Salt & Pepper, To Taste

Directions:
Directions:
Rinse beans, put into pot. Cover with water, 4 inches above beans. Bring to a boil. Boil for one hour.

Remove from heat and let stand for one hour.

Rinse in cold water. (Grandma says that takes the “gas“ out of the beans).

Put back on stove, add remaining ingredients, and simmer until beans are tender. Water should be 2 inches above beans. Add water when needed.

Stir often to thicken.

Add salt and pepper to taste when beans are ready to serve. Grandma says to add salt last, otherwise beans will toughen.

Enjoy!
