Directions:
Blend flour, baking soda, salt, rolled oats, sugar, brown sugar,
cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg in mixer until well blended.

Add shortening, butter, eggs and vanilla. Mix well on med speed.
(works best if butter is at room temperature)

Add raisins and nuts mix well.

I use the dough hook on my mixer.

Scoop 1⅔ tbsp. place on cookie sheet in a row. (I roll in a ball)

Bake at 350º for 12 to 14 min until lightly browned:

DO NOT OVER BAKE

Cool completely, Remove from cookie sheet.

*To plum raisins, cover with very hot tap water. Soak for 2-5
minutes. DO NOT OVER SOAK. Drain well before using.
I found if the raisins are fresh you can skip this step.

Personal Notes:
I love these cookies. I first had them when Betty and I were on a senior trip with a group from Fellowship Baptist Church. One of the ladies from our church brought these along to share. She was a retired principal from Deer Lake elementary school.
