6 to 8 tart apples
2 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. water
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Crumb topping:
1 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Slice apples into pie plate using no bottom crust. Sprinkle sugar over apples and dot with butter. Then sprinkle nutmeg and water.

Mix crumb topping ingredients with a fork until crumbs are formed. Spread over apples and bake at 350ºF until apples are tender and crumbs are brown, about 1 hour.
