Ingredients:
Ingredients:
Crust:
2 c. flour
3/4 c. butter crisco
dash of salt
5-6 tbsp of ice cold water

filling:
6 c. apples (peeled, cored and sliced)
2 tbsp flour
2 tbsp sugar (mix together with 2 tbsp flour)
3/4 c. sugar
4-5 slices butter
1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Cut crisco into flour until crisco looks crumbly and have pieces the size of peas. Then add just enough water to form the dough into a ball, cut in half and form each half into discs. Let it set for 5 min. Lightly flour work surface, top of dough and rolling pin. Roll out dough to a 12 inch circle. Transfer dough to pie dish, trim dough to 1/2 inch of the edge of pie dish.
For the filling Grandma Ryan would layer the sliced apples with a mixture of flour and sugar and the 3/4 c sugar making about 3 to 4 layers and then would top with sliced butter and cinnamon.
Roll out second disc and put on top of filling, trim the edges and fold dough underneath itself then crimp edges by pressing the pointer finger of one hand against the two knuckles of the other hand from the outside.
Grandma would brush the top crust with milk and sprinkle with sugar, then cut 3-4 slits in top of pie. Bake at 400º for 15 min and then 350º for 1 hour.
