3/4 c. sugar
1 c. butter, softened
2 t. vanilla
2 t. rum extract
1 egg
3 c. flour
1 t. nutmeg

FROSTING
2 c. powdered sugar
3 T. butter, softened
3/4 t. rum extract
1/4 t. vanilla
2-3 T. half-and-half

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl, beat sugar, butter, vanilla, rum extract
and egg until light and fluffy. Stir in flour and nutmeg.
Cover and refrigerate 30 to 45 minutes.

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Divide dough into 6 pieces.
On lightlyfloured surface, shape each piece of dough
into long rope, 1/2 inch in diameter. Cut into 3 in.
lengths. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 12-
15 min. or until light golden brown. Immediately remove
from cookie sheets and cool completely.

In small bowl, combine all frosting ingredients except
nutmeg, adding enough half-and-half for desired
spreading consistency; blend until smooth. Spread on
top and sides of cookies. If desired, mark frosting with
tines of fork to resemble bark. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
Allow frosting to set.
