1 lb. butter
3 c. sugar
6 eggs
3 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 pinch mace
1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla extract, or other flavor

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar until light. Add eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.

Sift dry ingredients together and then add alternately with sour cream to butter mixture, beating until smooth. Blend in extract.

Pour batter in 9" tube pan, which is buttered and lined on the bottom with paper.

Bake in moderate oven at 350º for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
