4 c. shortening
8 eggs
2 c. brown sugar
2 c. white sugar
8 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
3 tsp. soda
3 tsp. cinnamon
3 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. salt
2 c. milk
3 c. applesauce
3 tsp. vanilla
1 c. oatmeal
2½ c. raisins
1 small pkg chocolate chips
Nut meats (optional)
Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, eggs, brown sugar, and white sugar in a mixer.
Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
Add milk, applesauce, and vanilla alternately with flour mixture to the mixer.
Blend oatmeal, raisins, chocolate chips, and optional nut meats into mixer.
Drop by tsp on greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 400º for 12-15 minutes or until they are done (brown around the edges).
