Although "gooey" and "chewy" chocolate chip cookies are popular in some crowds, Starr & Teej know what's best and prefer Aunt Deborah's crisp-o-late cookie goodness!

WHERE DOES CHOCOLATE COME FROM?

It's believed that using cacao plants for chocolate actually dates back to 4,000 years ago, in what is modern day Mexico. Throughout history, the Olmecs (earliest), Mayans, and Aztecs (latest) loved their chocolate--as a drink. No candy bars yet!

While it's not for sure that Cortés is the one who brought chocolate to Europe, it's thought to have been him. (It's very sad such a mean person brought something so sweet back with him.)

While the Spanish did decide to make chocolate taste sweeter, they still copied the drink idea. Still no Wonka "Scrumdiddlyumptious" bars, unfortunately!

1828 was a happy year. Part of the Industrial Revolution, some beautiful individual invented the CHOCOLATE PRESS. Since then, chocolate bars, chocolate syrup, chocolate ice cream, and, well, chocolate EVERYTHING have been celebrated around the world!!!

P.S. There is only one thing Deborah likes more than baby pictures. Seeing babies in real life!!!!
