1 cup sugar
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
3 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
1 egg, separated

Topping:
6 oz. chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375. Prepare 9x12 baking pan - grease lightly.

Sift together the sugar, flour, baking powder and cinnamon. Add the margarine, shortening, egg and egg yolk. Blend together and spread into the prepared pan. Slightly beat egg white and spread over the top of the dough. Mix the topping ingredients together in a small bowl and sprinkle evenly over the top. Bake for 25 minutes. Cook completely before cutting into squares.
