3 cups butter, softened
1 ½ cups powdered sugar, sifted
4 ½ cups flour
1 ½ cups cornstarch
nonpareils sprinkles and/or halved candies cherries

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 300º
2. In large bowl, cream butter and sugar for about 5 minutes until light and fluffy
3. Gradually add flour and cornstarch, beating until well blended
4. With hands lightly dusted in cornstarch, roll dough into 1 inch balls
5. Place 1 inch apart on baking sheets with parchment paper
6. Press lightly with the back of a floured fork
7. Top with nonpareils sprinkles or cherry halves
8. Bake 20-22 minutes until bottom is lightly browned
9. Cool before serving
