1 c. butter
2 c. bread flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3/8 c. powdered sugar
1/4 c. ground almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Place the butter in a mixing bowl. Add 1 c. flour and salt and mix well. Then add sugar and the remainder of flour alternately until all is used. Add the almonds and blend thoroughly. Place the dough in the refrigerator and chill for at least an hour. Break off small pieces of dough (about 1 tsp), and roll on floured board into small balls. Top with cherries, nuts, or raisins. (Caution: work with only a small quantity of dough - keep balance in the refrigerator until ready to use).

Bake on a greased tin in a moderate oven (350º) for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar while hot.
