1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup shortening
2 tbsp. molasses
3 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 cup flour
3 cups quick cooking rolled oats
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3/4 cup nuts, chopped
12 oz. package of chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
1. Beat together brown sugar and shortening in a mixer bowl until light and fluffy. Add molasses, vanilla, and eggs, mixing well. Add the flour, then the oats, baking soda, and salt. Stir in the nuts and chocolate chips.

2. Spread in a greased pan. Bake at 350ºF for 20-25 minutes until the center is set. Cool slightly and cut into bars.
