1 cup Crisco or 2 sticks butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar

Directions:
Directions:
Cream crisco sticks with the sugar. Add eggs, beat well. Sift flour, salt, baking soda and cream of tartar. Mix together and add vanilla.
Chill 1-2 hours. Roll to 1/8 inch. Bake at 375º for 6-8 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Keep dough you are not working with in the refrigerator.
