½ lb. butter
2 cups flour
2 cups chopped nuts
5 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 tablespoon water
½ teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and add sugar, vanilla, and water. Sift flour and salt together and stir into mixture. Add nuts and mix thoroughly. Using portions about size of small walnut, roll into crescent shaped cookies. Bake in slow oven (325) about 20 minutes. While warm, roll in powdered sugar.

This is my mom's recipe. If I was tired, instead of crescents, I would roll the dough into balls and they would become snowball cookies.
