1 c. butter
3 c. flour ( between 1½ and 3 c.) ! Be the judge!
⅔ c. fruit sugar
1 c. glazed red and green cherries, cut in pieces, ¼ s or ⅛ s.

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the butter.
Work in the sugar and enough flour until feeling firm.
Mix well and knead on a board.
Add the cut cherries, floured first.
Form into a long roll, about 5 cm. diameter; wrap and chill several hours
Cut into ¼ inch slices. Bake 10-15 min. at 325º-350º,
until edges show hint of tan & a light touch doesn't leave a dimple.
Watch carefully. Try minimum time first.They burn easily. * These were a "must have" every Christmas. Grandma, Kate Ivens, is also credited with these.
