1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups self-rising flour
1-2 tsp. cinnamon
2 1/2 pounds Granny Smith Apples (4 large), cut into wedges or 2 cups
1 cup chopped nuts, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake pecans in a single layer in a shallow pan 5-7 minutes until toasted. Stir together butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, cinnamon, soda and salt; add to butter mixture, stir until blended.

Stir in apples and 1 cup pecans. (Batter will be very thick). Spread batter into a greased 13x9-inch pan. Bake for 45 minutes or until done. Cool, then spread cream cheese or browned butter frosting on top. Garnish with pecans.
