Directions:
Cream together butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla; beat to blend well. Add flour, salt, baking soda and rolled oats. Mix thoroughly. Gently blend in sunflower seeds. Chill dough thoroughly.

When ready to bake, heat oven to 350*. Use melon ball-er or tablespoon to form cookie dough and place on cookie sheet, 2" apart. (I use parchment paper on cookie sheets for easier clean-up). Bake 10 minutes until lightly browned.

Personal Notes:
Easy to make and these store very well. I didn't mind baking these for my kids and their friends, as they are "semi-nutritious" ! ;-)

Original recipe suggests rolling dough into logs and wrapping with plastic wrap, then chilling. Later slice rolls into 1" slices and lay onto cookie sheet. Makes uniform cookies, but extra time is involved, as well as use of plastic. I found/find that method unnecessary.
