Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 cup butter
1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup powder sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla (I use more like 1 tbsp)
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp salt
4 1/2 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cream together sugars, butter, crisco, eggs and vanilla for 1 minute.
2. Sift together all dry ingredients.
3. Combine wet and dry well.
4. Roll out and cut shapes or roll into small balls and flatten on a cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 for 8 to 12 minutes. I like them a little crispy so I cook them till brown, if you like them soft watch them and don't let them get brown.

I like these with a simple butter cream frosting.

My cousins and I still fight over my grandma's cookies. Everything she makes is so good!
