Combine and beat:
½ cup Crisco or Spry
1 cup brown sugar
¾ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 unbeaten egg
¾ cup flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon baking soda

Add and mix well:
1 cup rolled oats (Quaker Oats Cereal)
½ cup each of chopped dates and raisins


Directions:
Directions:
Drop level tablespoons of cookie dough on greased baking sheet. Flatten with damp cloth over glass. Bake in 350º oven 10-12 minutes.
