2 lbs. Hamburger Meat
1/8 t. black pepper
1/2 t. garlic powder
3 strips Bacon
2 lg. Onion, chopped (2 c.)
1 Med. Bell pepper-chopped & seeded
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, broken up
1 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced; or 2 cans
2 c. water or less (depends how thick you want it)
1 t. dried parsley
1 t. basil
1 1/2 t. oregano
1 1/2 t. chili powder
1 t. sugar
1 t. salt
1/2 t. black pepper
1 t. garlic powder
1 bay leaf

1. Cook first 3 ingredients until meat is done. Drain well in colander.
2. Cook Bacon in same pot until crisp. Remove Bacon, drain on paper towel and crumble; reserve. Add Onion and Bell Pepper to fat and cook until tender. (3 Min.)
3. Return Meat to pot; Add tomato paste and the next 13 ingredients. the crumbled bacon and bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer 1 1/2 hours or until it's as thick as you like it. Remove Bay leaf.
4. Taste; add more seasoning if needed
5. Serve over Cooked Spaghetti

I usually get it all mixed and put it in a slow cooker and cook on low all day or as long as needed.
It also freezes very well. Will keep 6 to 8 months in freezer.
