Directions:
You will need a saucepan with a cover and a stove top to cook on.
You will need a cutting board and a knife.
Using a cutting board and a knife, cut the onion down the middle then slice ear half in a downward motion

In a sauce pan, put in around 3tbsp. of oil in the sauce pan, add sliced onions and cover the pan. Cook on medium heat, if too high, lower the flame or temperature so you do not burn the onions.

Saute` until onions are soft and add in three shakes of crushed red pepper. If you do not like red pepper then add in less, if you like it hot, add more red pepper.

Add pepper and salt to taste and stir ingredients in the sauce pan.

Continue to cook for three more minutes and shut off.

Personal Notes:
This was a favorite of Grandma Julia Callinan who was Pop Pop Angley's mother. Grandma loved her family and everyone gathered at her home on Cedar Street in Central Islip Long Island, NY. Grandma's door to her home was always open and she welcomed everyone.

Add these hot onions to a hot dog on a bun and enjoy
