½ cup shortening or margarine
1 cup brown sugar OR ½ cup honey
1 egg, beaten
1 ¾ cups flour (handwritten note says 2 cups)
½ tsp. cinnamon
½ cup milk
1 cup raisins, lightly floured
3 tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. cloves
¼ tsp. nutmeg
½ tsp. salt

Directions:

Cream shortening, add sugar and egg.

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and spices. Add to egg mixture. Add milk and mix well then mix in raisins.

Bake in small greased tins (or use cupcake papers) about 25 minutes in moderate oven (375º).
