2 cups of raisins 2 cups of water
Wash raisins, add water, cover simmer gently for 1 min. Drain raisins and save liquid.
Cool raisins andliquid, must have 1 cup of liquid, if not add water to make 1 cup.
½ cup shortening cream sho;rtening add ½ cup sugar gradually, cream
Beat 2 eggs until fluffy , blend in beaten eggs.
2 ¼ cups flour ½ tsp cloves 1 tsp nutmeg 2 tsp cinnamon Mix
2 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp salt
Take 2 Tbl. Of the flour mixture and sprinkle over raisins and let them sit. Add remaining
Flour mixture alternately with liquid to creamed mixture. Add raisins and cup of nuts.
Bake 25 to 30 min. at 350
