Greased 9 x 13 pan 2 cups sugar
4 squares of semi sweet chocolate
2 cups flour 2 sticks of margarine
4 eggs 2 tsp vanilla
Dash of salt
Insread of chocolate squares, the last few years I have been using chocolate chips.
Two tablespoons of chips equal the 1 oz. chocolate square, and cheaper to use. so for this recipe I use 8 TBLS of chocolate Chips

Melt choc and margarine in saucepan over low heat, Remove from heat.
Stir in sugar, vanilla, salt, and eggs one at a time. Then add the flour and mix. If desired add 1 cup of nuts.
Linda started adding chocolate chips and that is very good. Bake at 350 for 35 min.
Cool before cutting.

This recipe was given to me at my kitchen shower by my friend Marilyn Deatheridge.
It was a popular recipe in 1959. We have all been making these brownies ever since. Some of us have added chocolate chips to the batter before baking..
