2-¼ cups all-purposed flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
¾ cup sugar
¾ cup brown sugar, packed
1 tsp vanilla
2 large eggs, each beaten slightly
1-¾ cups (11.5 oz package) Nestle Toll House Chocolate Morsels
1 cup nuts, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º.
Combine dry ingredients in a small bowl.
Beat butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla together in a large mixer bowl until creamy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Gradually beat in flour mixture.
Stir in morsels and nuts.
Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 9-11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes, remove to cooling racks.

Pan Cookie Varaition:
Grease 15 x 10" jelly-roll pan. Prepare dough as instructed. Spread into prepared pan.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack.
