11/2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
5 ½ cups flour
1 cup molasses
½ cup strong coffee
2 tsp soda
2 tsp ginger
½ tsp nutmeg
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp cloves

FROSTING
1 cup sugar
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
Stir into 1 cup cold water and boil simmering for 10 min
2 cups confectioner sugar in mixing bowl and add above slowly.
Add ¼ tsp vanilla
Beat on high for ten minutes

This is an old cookie and we first got the recipe from an elderly lady in Omega, Mn who Claude cared for
