5 eggs, separated
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 lb unsalted butter
2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 300 degrees

Beat egg whites and set aside
Cream sugar and butter
Add vanilla and egg yolks and beat until creamy
Add flour and baking powder.
Fold in the egg whites

Pour into prepared 4"x8" loaf pan.
Bake for 1 hour and 20-30 minutes
Remove from oven and allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
