1/2 c butter

1/2 c crisco

1/2 c white sugar

1/2 c brown sugar

2 egg yolks (beaten) - do not throw egg whites away, they will be used.

1 Tbsp water

1 tsp vanilla

2 c flour

1/4 tsp salt

1 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp baking soda

1 12 oz. pkg chocolate chips

Mix in order given.

Pat out in greased pan.

Pour chocolate chips over dough and press down.

Make a meringue of 3/4 cup brown sugar & 2-3 egg whites.

spread on top of dough .

light golden brown meringue.

bake at 350º in 9 x 13 x 2 pan or a cookie sheet for 20-25 minutes
