1 c. Crisco
1 c. margarine
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 c/ powdered sugar
½ to 1 tsp salt

Frosting:
½ c. butter, softened
¾ c. milk
½ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
2 lbs. powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
For cookie: cream sugars with Crisco and margarine; add eggs, vanilla and salt and mix well. Mix dry ingredients together. Then add creamed mixture. Refrigerate overnight. Roll out dough to about ¼ inch thick and cut into desired shape. Bake at 350º for about 10-12 minutes. Cookies should not be brown.

For frosting: Mix all ingredients well. Add color if desired. Will frost 4-6 dozen cookies.
