1 cup flour

½ cup powder sugar

½ cup soft butter

1 tsp. vanilla or almond extract

Directions:

Mix butter and vanilla. Add flour and sugar and mix well.
Roll into small balls, then flatten with the base of a glass covered with flour. Use a fork to make an X cross pattern. Sprinkle with sugar crystals in the color of the season.

Bake 350° for 15-18 minutes.

I like to use almond flavoring instead of vanilla for a twist in flavor. You can add sprinkles in different colors depending on the season or event. (Judyann)
