1 cup sugar
¾ cup butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
¾ tsp salt
2 Tbsp grated orange peel

Glaze:
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
3 Tbsp light corn syrup

1. Heat oven to 375º.

2. In large bowl, beat sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and egg; blend well.

3. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt and orange peel.

4. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten to ⅛ or ¼ thickness with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar.

5. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets.

6. Line cookie sheets with waxed paper. In small saucepan, combine glaze ingredients. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat.

7. Pour glaze into glass measuring cup; set in pan of hot water. Dip half of each cookie into glaze; shake off excess chocolate. Place dipped cookies on waxed paper-lined cookie sheets.

8. Refrigerate until glaze is set, about 10 minutes.
