3 EGGS 1 C. MOLASSES
1 C. SUGAR 1 C. SHORTENING

1/2 LB. CHOCOLATE SQUARES, MELTED - (OR 1 1/2 C. COCOA PLUS 1/4 C MARGARINE)
1/2 C. BOILING WATER
2 TSP. BAKING SODA

1 TSP CINNAMON, CLOVES, SALT
4 1/2 -5 C. FLOUR

MIX TOGETHER EGGS, MOLASSES, SUGAR AND SHORTENING. SET ASIDE. MIX TOGETHER CHOCOLATE, WATER, AND SODA AND ADD TO EGG MIXTURE. ADD CINNAMON, CLOVES, SALT AND FLOUR TO MIX AND BEAT UNTIL DOUGH IS SMOOTH. CHILL. ROLL OUT AND CUT WITH A DOUGHNUT CUTTER. ADD FLOUR AS NEEDED TO ROLL OUT.

BAKE: 350º FOR 7 +OR- MINUTES. DO NOT OVERBAKE. COOL AND FROST.
