1 5 ounce can of tuna
1 can cream of mushroom soup
3 cups wide egg noodles
2 Tbsp butter
2 cups diced tomatoes
1/2 cup diced onion
1 Tsp thyme

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425º.
Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain
Layer ingredients into casserole starting 2/3 of noodles.
Saute onions in butter and layer on top of noodles.
Layer Tuna on top of onion and sprinkle with thyme.
Cover with tomatoes and top with remaining noodles.
Bake casserole for 35 minutes until noodles on top turn brown.
Let cool and serve.

I don't ever recall watching mom layer the ingredients. My recollection is more that she stirred all the ingredients together, then topped with the remaining noodles.
