Quick oats (however much you are making, use the measurements on the back of the container)

Water (amount varies depending on the quantity you are making, use the measurements on the back of the container for the water)

At least ½ cup of white granulated sugar
1-2 pats of butter
Have milk on hand

Directions:
Directions:
1. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat.
2. When the water starts boiling, add the oats and stir.
3. Add in the ½ cup of sugar and mix well.
4. As the oatmeal cooks, remove the white foam with a spoon from the top of the oatmeal.
5. Cover for 2-3 minutes and continue to let it cook.
6. If the oatmeal is thicker than you want, slowly add in little amount of milk and stir until you reach the desired consistency.
7. Add additional sugar to taste.
8. Add the pats of butter to the oatmeal and stir well.
