3 C. Flour
2 tsp. Baking Powder
¼ C. Butter
¼ C. Crisco
¾ C. Sugar
2 Eggs Beaten
¼ C. Milk
1 tsp. Lemon Flavoring
½ lb. Sesame Seeds

Filling for Fig Version
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1 lb. Figs
½ lb. Almonds
½ lb. Walnuts
1 jar Orange Marmalade

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour and baking powder into a large bowl. Blend in butter and crisco with fingers until crumbly. Add sugar, eggs, milk and lemon flavoring. Mix together with hands to make a smooth dough. Roll dough 1½ tsp. at a time into small logs. Moisten with water and roll into sesame seeds. Place 1" apart on greased baking sheet. Bake at 350º for 25 minutes.

Cool and enjoy.

Fig Version-use same dough as sesame seed cookies. Grind together cinnamon, figs, almonds and walnuts. Add orange marmalade. Mix well. Roll out 1 T. of dough, fill with mixture and fold sides of each strip to close it. Place seam down on cookie sheet. Bake 350º for 20 minutes.
