Cake:
1-1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1-1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon

Frosting:
6 T. butter, melted
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1/4 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. shredded coconut
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cake: Pour boiling water over oats, cover and let stand 20 minutes. Beat butter until creamy. Gradually add sugars and beat until fluffy. Blend in vanilla and eggs. Add oats mixture, mix well. Sift together flour, soda, salt cinnamon. Add to creamed mixture. Mix well. Pour batter into well greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Do not remove cake from pan.

Frosting: Meanwhile while cake bakes, prepare topping. Melt butter. Mix in sugar and mile. Cook 2 minutes, Stirring constantly over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in nuts, vanilla and coconut. Spread over top of cake and brown under broiler. Burns easily. Serve warm or cold.
