Directions: |
Directions:Sauce: Mix all ingredients together in a sauce pan using a whisk. Sprinkle parmesan cheese (from a can) over sauce. Cook on low heat for 5-6 hours. Watch carefully and add water throughout cooking time to keep the sauce level the same as when you started. Cook uncovered.
Meatballs: Place ground beef in a large bowl. Sprinkle with seasonings. Take each slice of bread and wet it under running water. Squeeze out excessive moisture and put in with hamburger mixture. When all of the bread has been added, use your hands and combine the mixture. Shape into golf ball size meatballs. Heat olive oil over medium heat and add meatballs to the pan and brown on all sides. Then, bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 min., until no longer pink in the middle. Serve with spaghetti and sauce. |

Notes: I grew up on this family favorite recipe and still enjoy it very much today. We served it for many years on Christmas Eve at Grandma Muggs' house. Serve with a nice tossed salad and French Bread and you will have a very nice meal.
