Ingredients:  
2 Cans condensed milk (*not sweetened) or 4 cups whole milk

1 cup water

1 Can cream style corn

1 Can drained sweet corn (or one cup cooked fresh corn cut from cob)

2 cans drained white diced potatoes (or 2 cups cooked diced new potatoes)

1 diced onion

1/2 stick butter

Salt and Pepper to taste

Saute diced onion in butter in large dutch oven or pot

Add in the potatoes, corn and milk

Cook over low heat stirring often so that the milk does not burn

If you prefer thicker chowder use equal part dissolved corn starch in cold water added to pot until desired consistency or you can add some instant mashed potatoes to the soup until the desired thickness

Optional top with fresh diced parsley, bacon bits or add in cooked lobster or shrimp

Serve with salt and pepper and warm biscuits or crackers

My dad loved this chowder and we used to eat it with lots of pepper and buttered saltine crackers. If you only had one bowl he would pretend to pout and say, you don't like it until you took more.
