1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
6 Tbls. whole milk
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
2 heaping cups flour
1 cup raisins (softened in hot water & drained)
2 heaping cups oatmeal
1 heaping tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening & sugar. Add eggs & beat well, add vanilla.

Sift together all dry ingredients and add to shortening mixture alternating with milk. Stir in raisins & oats.

Bake @ 350 on ungreased cookie sheet until brown.

I love these because they are soft instead of being crisp like most oatmeal cookies. I can remember eating these at Grandma's when I was a little girl.
