5 eggs, separated
6 T cocoa
2 c sifted confectioner's sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 c heavy cream, whipped
2 T granulated sugar

Directions:
Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored. Sift together 3 T cocoa and c confectioners sugar: add to egg yolks, beating until smoothened well blended. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Add 1 tsp vanilla. Pour into a greased and floured baking sheet 8" by 12" by 1". Bake in a moderately hot oven of 400º for 15 minutes. Turn out on a clean cloth which has bee sprinkled with confectioners sugar. Cool and spread with a filling made by combining the whipped cream, granulated sugar, and remaining 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. Roll up cake like a jelly roll. Cover with icing made by combining the remaining 3 T cocoa with c confectioners sugar and enough milk to make the icing of spreading consistency. Then cut the roll into slices.
