2 cups butter
2 cups sugar
2 cups packed brown sugar
4 large eggs
2 tablespoons vanilla
4 cups flour
5 cups oatmeal (put in processor and make into flour)
4 teaspoons baking powder
4 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
24 oz. (2 bags) chocolate chips (semi sweet or milk chocolate)
8 ounces good milk chocolate, grated
3 cup nuts, any kind you prefer (nuts are optional)

1. Preheat oven to 375º.
2. Cream butter, sugar and brown sugar.
3. Add eggs, one at a time, and vanilla.
4. In separate bowl mix flour, oat flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
5. Gradually add flour mixture to butter batter until thoroughly mixed.
6. Stir in chocolate chips, grated milk chocolate and nuts (if using).
7. Drop 1½ inch balls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
8. Bake 6-10 minutes. Cookies will be soft but will firm up a bit after cooling.
