2 cups sugar
1 cup white karo
¼ tsp salt
1 ½ tsp vanilla
1 cup half & half milk
1 cup whipping cream
½ can canned milk
½ walnuts or pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, salt, syrup and half and half together. As mixture cooks down, gradually add whipping cream. (keep mixture boiling while adding cream). Start on low heat until boils, then turn on high.

Brush crystals down with brush. Stir constantly. When candy cooks down (1 min.) add ½ can canned milk slowly. Cook to (228 Utah) (236+ Corvallis). Remove from heat and add vanilla (nuts if desired for caramels). Pour into greased pan, or dip for turtles.

Turtles: put two pecans together on cookie sheet and dip caramel over them. When cool, dip in chocolate. Yield about 70-80 pieces (approx 10 oz pecans). Makes about 10-11 lbs. when dipped.
Note: It's good to have a marble slab to pour chocolate on.
