Dough for double crust 9-inch pie (store bought or homemade)
¾ cup sugar
1 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
Dash salt
3½ cups peeled and sliced apples
1 jar applesauce (16 oz.)
1 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. butter, chopped

Topping:
3 tbsp. flour
1 tbsp. sugar
Dash of salt
1 tbsp. butter, at room temperature

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425º. Line pie pan with half of the dough. Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt in a bowl. Stir in apples, applesauce, and lemon juice. Spoon ingredients into pie crust and dot with butter. Cut remaining crust into strips and arrange over top. Combine topping into bowl until crumbly. Sprinkle over crust, bake for 10 minutes then reduce heat to 350º and bake for 45 minutes until golden brown.
